A MAN was seriously injured in a truck accident on the N3 near Peacevale, earlier today (Wednesday 15 October).
According to Robert Mckenzie, media liaison officer for Emergency Medical Services (EMS), a truck and trailer travelling west bound on the N3, jackknifed and the trailer is believed to have flipped over the truck, severely damaging the cab.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene around 2pm and found the trailer, carrying a large shipping container, lying on its side on the centre island,” said Mckenzie.
The driver of the truck suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Another day, another truck accident. Perhaps his brakes failed? ….. perhaps the driver was incompetent? Seriously ??? Straight after this accident yesterday there were still trucks not adhering to the mandatory slow lane down the hill. Fine the company and make them pay for all the clean up costs and then perhaps they will maintain their trucks and screen and train their drivers.
