Slain Pinetown cop identified
One policeman was killed and two others are said to be in a serious condition after a shootout at the Pinetown SAPS on Friday night.
ACCORDING to South African Crime Watch the police officer that was killed in the line of duty was W/O John Norman.
It was reported that Norman was killed while another two policemen were seriously injured in the shootout at the Pinetown SAPS. One of the prisoners is also said to be in a serious condition.
Norman will be laid to rest on Monday 13 October. The church service will begin at 11am at the Red Point Church, 90 Seventh Avenue.
There would also be a candle lighting ceremony at the Pinetown SAPS that Monday from 8.30am. Parking will be available outside Pinetown Girls’ High School.
After the ceremony a convoy will travel to the church via Elm Street. The community are urged to take their own candles along.
