Dying man wakes Burlington resident
Burlington resident wakes up to find a dead man on his doorstep.
A BURLINGTON resident who was woken by a loud knocking on his door last weekend was shocked to discover a dead man on his doorstep.
According to Radhika Marimuthu, corporate communications officer for Malvern SAPS, the resident was fast asleep when he heard a loud noise at his door. On seeing the dead man, he alerted the police who arrived soon thereafter.
“Police followed the blood trail which lead them to a nearby tavern in the informal settlement, on questioning the residents it was ascertained that the deceased had been in a altercation with another fellow patron.
“He fled the scene in a n attempt to get help thus ending up on the verandah of the other man. The suspect is known to us and an arrest is imminent,” she added.
