Pupils have a spring in their step

New Germany Primary School pupils recently took part in a fundraising Spring Walk and the Grade 7s market Day.

IT was a morning of fun and excitement at New Germany Primary School recently when pupils took part in the Spring Walk and the Grade 7s hosted their market day.

The pupils from Grade R up to Grade 6 took part in the fundraising walk where they were challenged to do 20 full laps around the school’s main field. When they were done they were given the opportunity to peruse the exciting stores that the Grade 7s had set up for the market day. There were a variety of food stalls which sold wors rolls, burgers and hot dogs to marshmallows on a stick and an assortment of sweets.

Nedbank provided incentives for the pupils who excelled in marketing and selling their products. The market day is part of the EMS curriculum in which pupils are taught the skills needed to run their own small businesses, from coming up with a company name to drawing up posters and pitching their business plans.
