Two injured in Hillcrest accident

Two people were injured after bakkie rolled several times.

Two people were injured when their bakkie rolled multiple times on the N3 near Hillcrest on Sunday afternoon, 28 September.

When Er24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found the light motor vehicle in a ditch next to the roadside. On assessment, paramedics discovered two people had sustained moderate injuries. The driver of the vehicle lay trapped inside the vehicle.

“Provincial rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the patient. Once freed, the patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Hillcrest Hospital for further treatment,” said Russel Meiring from ER24.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
