Man injured in N3 truck smash

A MAN was injured when a truck collided into the rear of another heavy goods vehicle on the N3 west at the Shongweni bridge this morning (Thursday, 18 September) just after 5am.

“Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment,” said Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha.

Netcare 911 paramedics said their rescue unit and the fire department arrived at the scene and found the wreckage of the one truck across the highway. The driver escaped with minor injuries.

“After he was stabilised at the scene they transported him to a local hospital,” Botha said.
