Police keep watch at UKZN

Police are on guard at UKZN campuses following last week's violent strike.

POLICE are on guard at the Westville campus following the violent protests last week.

Lectures have resumed normally today and the situation is under control.

The UKZN campuses had to suspend the lectures on Thursday and Friday after Westville and Edgewood Campus experienced serious violent protests.

Two people were injured at the Westville Campus on Thursday.

UKZN students were protesting against a proposed increase in the university’s registration fees to R9 000.

Howard College campus in Glenwood as well as the Pietermaritzburg campus also joined in the protest last week.
