Humble Mbutho helps his community

Cop Trust needs your assistance to run their projects for the Clermont community.

INSTEAD of being bitter, Mduduzi Mbutho, father of nine year old, Ndumiso Mbutho who went missing in March this year has dedicated himself to helping the community.

There is still no trace of Ndumiso (9) who is deaf and was last seen playing outside his home in KwaDabeka.

Mbutho has joined forces with Cop Trust, an organisation that provides an opportunity for businesses and ordinary South Africans to make a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Mbutho runs the Cop Trust projects in Clermont.

The organisation operates in a church (Kingdom of God) where they teach Bible lessons and they also have a music class for young people.

Mbutho said they have a soup kitchen as many people in the township are unemployed.

“We also have a feeding scheme in Clermont and KwaDabeka Clinics. People queue almost the whole day at the clinic without eating, which is why we decided to start this project.

“All our feeding projects are only once a week. We really wish that we could feed the people at least three times a day,” he said.

Recently, Diego Baldi, a yoga instructor, teamed up with Cop Trust to do a weekly Wednesday Yoga class for free especially for old people.

Baldi said he has always wanted to give back to the community.

“I met Rick Szabo from Cop Trust, and asked him if he knows of a place where I can render my services and he pointed me to Clermont.

“Ultimately the intention of taking Yoga classes is to make us more kind and compassionate beings.

“Yoga is very good for one’s body as it deals with physical and mental health,” he said.

Baldi appeals to anyone who can donate yoga mats to email diego@innerwellnessstudio.com.
