Pupils rake in medals at science expo

Three pupils from Star College Girls' High School will represent KZN at the National Science Expo in Pretoria from 7 to 10 October.

NINETEEN pupils from Star College Girls High School received either gold, silver or bronze medals at the Eskom Science Expo at UKZN recently.

Santhini Naidoo, Preashnee Pillay, Keesha Singh, Koyal Dhunlal, Sabeeha Begum Sayed, Humaira Vawda and Kemintha Govender won gold for their projects.

Yashoda Maharaj, Saiyuri Moodley, Vyakta Panday, Ketalya Reddy, Kaylashni Moodley, Simone Reddy, Pryaska Sukdeo and Melek Kara won silver medals, while Jadine Chetty, Taruna Rambaros, Sadhya Dabideen and Irem Nur Akbas received bronze medals.

The school also received two special awards – best female overall (Koyal Dhunalal) and best in category for energy efficiency (Keesha Singh).

Three pupils, Humaira Vawda, Koyal Dhunlal and Keesha Singh, will attend the National Science Expo in Pretoria to represent KZN from 7 to 10 October.
