IT was a morning of sporting fun at the New Germany Lutheran Pre-Primary School as the children took part in its annual sports day.
Due to the cold weather, the fundraising event was hosted indoors so that the children didn’t catch a bout of the flu.
The girls and boys teams were separated onto two large mats and, despite the competition between the groups and each other, they were more than happy to cheer each other on.
There was a hilarious shoe, hat and handbag race – which did not deter the boys from taking part, a sack race and a ball and spoon race. They were then treated to a slice of orange to keep up their energy before they were each given a golden chocolate medal for taking part and an ice lolly.
