Taxi owners take to the streets

Members of the Pinetown Taxi Association took to the streets this morning, allegedly in protest  the city’s Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT), which is part of the Go! Durban project.

Traffic was badly affected as  Pinetown taxi owners gathered in the Pinetown CBD area. Police are at the scene monitoring the situation.

It’s been reported that protesters are making their way to Lahee Park stadium.

This comes nearly a month after Pinetown taxi operators squared off against metro police.
