Paige has a passion for tent-pegging

Paige Kelly of Hillcrest High School has full colours from the school for her equestrian activities.

HILLCREST High School’s Grade 11 pupil, Paige Kelly, made the U18 KZN tent-pegging team recently and was also elected as captain of the team.

Her team will participate in the qualifying events for 2015 in Vryheid at the end of August.

At this year’s Youth Festival in Gauteng, Paige was asked to ride for the Pakistan Tent-pegging Junior Team (age group 16 – 23 years of age) as one of their riders was unable to attend the event.

“Despite the language barrier, it was loads of fun,” said Paige. She added that their style of tent-pegging is different from that of the South African riders and that it had been an invaluable experience.

Paige has full colours from the school for her equestrian activities. It is with this achievement that her school has chosen her at the SPAR Star of the Month.
