Four injured in Kloof crash

The Jaws of Life were used to free a man from one of the vehicles in the collision along Krantzview Road this morning.

FOUR people were injured when two vehicles collided head-on along Krantzview Road in Kloof on Monday morning.

According to Chris Botha, media spokesman for Netcare 911, paramedics arrived at the scene and found two people were seriously injured while two others escaped with minor injuries. A commuter in a Corsa bakkie was seriously injured and was still trapped in the vehicle.

“While the Netcare 911 rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to free the injured man, paramedics climbed into the wreckage to stabilise him,” said Botha. Paramedics treated all the injured on scene before they were transported to various hospitals.

He noted that the cause of the accident is not yet known and the local SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating.
