Woman shot, husband arrested
A man has been arrested after his wife was shot at their home.
A shooting in Valley View flats Bellair has left community members puzzled. A man in his late 20s allegedly shot and injured his 26-year-old wife on Friday 8 August just after 4pm in their home.
According to police reports, the woman was rushed to RK Khan hospital where she had an emergency operation and is now recovering at home.
The suspect was arrested at the hospital and appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Hospital where he was granted bail.
“Circumstances around the shooting are unknown at present and a police investigation is underway,” said Dereck Vijiam, corporate communications officer for Bellair SAPS.
