Durban teacher arrested for child porn

A  Durban drama teacher was recently arrested for sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.

According to news website iol News the 48-year-old teacher, who has taught at several reputable KwaZulu-Natal high school has also directed and performed in many drama productions.

It has been alleged that the accused recruited a number of teenage boys for the production of pornographic films since June.

The website reported that the man was arrested on Tuesday, 19 August and he is expected to appear in court today.

Earlier in the year outrage swept across social media after it was alleged that a teacher from Johannesburg unwittingly showed pornography to a group of Grade 10 pupils while viewing porn on his laptop.

In July a teacher from Benjamin Pine Primary School resigned after he showed pornography to a group of Grade 6 pupils.
