Son witnesses dad’s brutal murder

Mariannhill SAPS is offering a reward to anyone who can assist arrest the four men who robbed house in Nagina and killed the owner.

A disabled man watched in horror as four robbers stabbed and killed his father in their home in Nagina, Mariannhill.

Mariannhill SAPS communications officer, Marcelino Harrold said four men entered a house in Nagina armed with knives and guns yesterday at 11.30am.

“Sunker Chunder (70) and his son Jitesh (25) who is in a wheelchair were tied up while the four men ransacked the house.

“It is alleged that Sunker was stabbed with a sharp object and died.

“The robbers fled with Sunker’s blue Mercedes Benz, with the registration plate, CHUNDER ZN, a Samsung S4, a Sony Playstation, Nokia cellphone, three brass lamps and a Samsung tablet,” he said.

“The stolen goods are estimated to be worth R623 00,” said Harrold.

Mariannhill police have promised a reward for anyone who can assist apprehend the four men. Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer D/W/O Maluleka.
