Durban roads closed for architecture ‘world cup’

A number of road closures and diversions will be put in place from now until the end of the World Architects Congress.

‘The World Cup on Architecture’ UIA2014 Durban, kicked off on Sunday, 03 August, attracting the largest gathering of architects ever held in southern Africa.

The event has also provides the opportunity for Durban’s citizens to be integrally involved, through free access to an exciting Fringe Programme, taking place in and around Durban’s CBD.

In addition, the event has provided a launch pad for a number of City urban regeneration projects, each one focusing on stimulating interest in the built environment sector and focus on Durban’s inner city.

To facilitate the various activations and activities, the following road closures and diversions are being put in place over the next three days and will remain until the end of the Congress on 10 August.

Other areas where the public can be involved, are through Fringe Programme, which will showcase local, national and international talent and take place in a range of ‘Otherwhere’ and City venues and the Trade Expo in the Durban Exhibition Centre (DEC), which promises to offer the latest product developments, technological innovations, and service offerings in the world of architecture and design.
