THREE bike accidents were reported in Queensburgh in less than 24 hours on Sunday evening.
According to Garrith Jamieson, spokesman for Rescue Care paramedics, all three bikers were seriously injured in the incidents.
“Rescue Care paramedics responded to three separate motor bike accidents in and around Durban in the past 24 hours leaving all three bikers seriously injured.”
The first accident happened shortly after 12pm at the Edwin Swales Drive outside the Shell Garage. A vehicle had turned in the path of a biker and they collided.
The biker was found sitting on the pavement in severe pain, he was stabilised at the scene before being rushed to hospital.
In the second incident, Rescue Care paramedics were called to Sarnia Road near the Caltex garage in Bellair where a vehicle had turned in front of an approaching bike.
The biker was found in a serious condition with multiple injuries and was immediately rushed off to a nearby hospital.
The last incident occurred at 6am on Monday morning. Paramedics were called to the M7 West bound before Bellville bridge where a truck had collided with a biker in the fast lane. The impact of the crash caused the biker to be flung from the car onto the center median leaving him with serious injuries.
SAPS were at all of the scenes and are investigating further.
