Durban Lions donate saddles to SARDA

SARDA received much needed saddles from Lions International Durban.

Lions Club Durban Host  has come to the rescue and paid for five saddles for South African Riding for the Disabled (SARDA) Durban branch after their tack was stolen.

Ann Davidson, secretary of the Lions Club Durban Host, read about the theft in The Berea Mail and felt it was a worthwhile cause.

“It is nice to do something different. There is so much that we don’t know about and when I saw it in The Berea Mail I wanted to do something to help.”

With the aid of the Lions donation, SARDA was able to source 4 second hand saddles and 1 new saddle to the value of R22 000 which were fitted to each individual pony to ensure they have the correct fitting tack.

Ann and Ralph Davidson visited the SARDA premises in Assagay on behalf of the Lions to see their valuable donation put to good use as they watched a riding lesson of children from West Park School.

After watching the demo Ann and Ralph were impressed by what they had seen.

“It is not just a gift for these children to come here but vital for their well being, I am just gobsmacked,” said Ann.
