Alleged child killer arrested in Durban

A man accused of stabbing, strangling and dumping a child into a pit toilet was arrested in Durban.

A MAN wanted for the brutal murder of a Mariannhill child was arrested in South Beach, Point in Durban.

According to Mariannhill SAPS communications officer, Cpt Linton Harold, the man was wanted by police after a child was stabbed, strangled and thrown in a toilet pit, in Mhlathuzana Road, Dassenhoek on Friday 4 July.

Lead investigator, Detective Warrant Officer Phili tracked  the man to South Beach in the Point area where he was arrested.

Cpt Harold said the arrest was widely commended and both the Station Commander, Col Madonsela and Detective Commander, Lt Col Duke praised Philli for his outstanding work and in bringing a sadistic criminal to book.

The man was detained and will soon appear in court.
