Food for Life empowers children

Food For Life facilitated an educational drive together with nutrition for the children of St Vincent's Children's Home.

FOOD For Life Children’s Projects, a new wing of Food For Life South Africa visited the St Vincent’s Children’s Homes based at the Mariannhill Monastery as part of its outreach initiative recently.

The children were treated to a full day of learning, entertainment and good food. Coordinator of the project, Divesh Maharaj said Food For Life was committed to facilitating the educational drives together with nutrition as education means empowerment.

St Vincent’s Children’s Homes provides a safe and secure accommodation for about 100 children under the direction of Sister Gorrette. The homes provides an intellectually stimulating environment for the holistic development of children and many other activities that empower children with life orientation and social development skills.
