Kameeran bowls his way to the top

Kloof High School's SPAR Star of the Month - July 2014.

KAMEERAN Naicker is a matric pupil at Kloof High School who has set his sights on setting the cricketing world on fire and for this he was chosen as the school’s SPAR Star of the Month.

He started playing cricket at nine years old as a hobby and ended up falling in love with the game. This inspired him to work hard at the sport and to be the best that he could be.

Kameeran started playing for the provincial side when he was selected for the KZN U15 team in 2012 and soon followed this achievement by being selected for the KZN Mynahs U17 and U19 teams. These teams participated in tournaments around KZN in December last year.

The Kloof High School cricketers recently returned from a successful tour of England where Kameeran played a key role in both the batting and bowling attack. On the team’s return from England, this all-rounder was invited to attend the Cricket South Africa U17 regional camp in preparation for the U19 World Cup in 2016.

Kameeran’s dream is to represent South Africa at a high level tournament. After school he hopes to study further in the business field and has been offered sports scholarships to various universities. He’s also hoping to be able to take his cricket further in the Dolphins Academy on his way to great cricketing heights.
