Jesse is Kearsney’s all-round star

Kearsney College has chosen deputy head of the school choir, Jesse Rich, as its SPAR Star of the Month.

JESSE Rich epitomises a Kearsney College leader, having successfully steered his peers on the international stage as well as the sports fields.

A respected and popular school prefect, Jesse is deputy head of the choir, which recently returned from Latvia where it won three gold medals at the eighth World Choir Games and received standing ovations at the United Nations in Geneva.

The choir won gold in all three categories it entered – the Young Male Choirs, Scenic Folklore and Scenic Pop – as well as World Champion status in the latter. The Choir Games is the Olympics for choirs and is the largest competition in the history of choir music – having attracted 27 000 participants and 460 choirs from 73 nations this year.

Also a talented sportsman, Jesse, represented the 1st XV at this year’s Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival, and plays water polo for the school’s 2nd team.

An active participant in the drama club, Jesse, played a lead role in Kearsney’s school production last year and is a member of the Inner Circle, the College’s public speaking club.
