Man appears in court for car theft

A man who was charged with car theft made his first court appearance.

A 28-year-old man appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 21 July after being charged with car theft.

On Thursday 17 July at 10.30am, it was alleged that the victim estimated to be 65-years-old parked his vehicle at the Bluff Meat Supply parking lot in Suffert Street, Pinetown.

When the victim returned the vehicle was no longer where it was parked. The victim stopped the Shongweni K9 vehicle that was in the vicinity and informed them about the theft of his vehicle.

While the victim was talking with the police, he noticed his vehicle going in the direction towards Mason Street. The police gave chase, the suspect was apprehended and the vehicle was recovered.
