Advanced life support was needed to save a cyclist who was in critical condition this morning.

A CYCLIST was left in a critical condition after he was hit by a motorist along Manors Road in Pinetown this morning.

According to Russel Meiring, media spokesman for ER24, paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 6.24am.

He said the driver of the vehicle admitted he did not see the cyclist on the road.

“Advanced life support was needed as the cyclist was in a critical condition. He had a head injury despite wearing a helmet and had lacerations and abrasions all over his body,” said Meiring.

No one else was injured.

The man was then taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

  1. I feel firstly that allot of the taxis from pinetown are in a terrible condition and metro could easily catch these culprits at the ranks.. Why metro does not act on the road ( where most motorists from all walks of life) commit traffic violations goes beyond my understanding..people speeding, lack of indicating ect are major causes of accidents in and around Durban.. Drunk drivers ect. My response is simple. Metro act where the need is. Outside bars and clubs at ranks for public transport and ON THE ROAD. Road blocks serve no purpose as drivers see you from a distance. In todays life we need more action and less talks thereof..spend less money on your lavish govermental do’s and start serving your country.. Sincerly. Young leader of tommorow.
