N3 body part horror – witnesses sought

Police are looking for witnesses to come forward with information regarding a gruesome accident on the N3.

AUTHORITIES believe that the body parts of a woman that were found on the N3 may be the result of a hit and run incident.

A woman’s body parts were found on the N3, Durban Bound just before the Pavilion in the early hours of Thursday 3 July.

Member of SA CAN, Andreas Mathios said he was alerted to a horrific scene on the N3 freeway, Durban bound where a pedestrian had been run over by someone who failed to stop.

“The pedestrian was killed and as it occurred during dusk the emerging rush hour traffic including trucks, taxis and the general public drove over her lifeless body, too gruesome to elaborate,” he said.

The authorities were alerted around 2pm that day, and this was after alert tow truck operators noticed something suspicious next to the roadside.

“I was summoned to the scene to verify that in fact it was human remains and not someone’s dog. I was also able to establish the sex and race,” added Mathios.

Anyone who can assist the police with information on this matter can contact the police or Andreas at SA CAN on 086 167 2226.
