Robbers target Botha’s Hill homes – again

There were four reports of house robberies in Botha's Hill this past weekend.

BOTHA’S Hill experienced an spate of house robberies at the weekend.

There were two incidents on Saturday 12 July. The first robbery took place at Warrickshire Road. A robber gained entry into the house by smashing a window. He took a briefcase.

Then later that evening, robbers broke into a house on Botha Road at 7.45pm. The robbers removed a window to gain entry into the house and stole a flat screen TV.

The robbers targeted another house on Old Main Road on Sunday 13 July around 7.15pm. They smashed a window to gain entry into the home, assaulted a pensioner and bit her on her hands to remove her rings. They also stole a cellphone and flat screen TV. The pensioner was admitted to hospital.

There was another house breaking report at Dunrobin Lane on Monday 14 July at 3.45pm. Two men entered the property and hit a woman over the head with a beam. She was rushed to hospital.

Steven King of Waterfall Crime Watch said, no arrests have been made as yet however all role players in the area are currently working to find these thugs.

“We are appealing to residents to please pay more attention to their surroundings, please report all suspicious people and vehicles in the area to the police or neighbourhood watch.

“Make sure your houses are locked and alarm systems are armed at night and ensure your domestic workers are aware of these safety measures and not to allow strangers into your home,” said King.

A series of violent crimes in the area earlier this year saw a 62-year-old woman stabbed, an 83-year-old man shot and two siblings  held up at knife point.
