Mrs India SA finalist has earned her stripes

Pinetown resident Jessica Jadunandan is one of the finalists in the Mrs India SA.

WIFE and mother of two Jessica Jadunandan (38) is one of the finalists for the Mrs India SA pageant to be held on Saturday, August 9 at Sibaya IsiZulu Theatre, Durban.

Jessica who resides in Farningham Ridge, Pinetown has been married for 17 years to Vinesh Premduth Jadunandan. The couple have been blessed with two children, Mickyle Joshua (14) and Mckenzie Leah (10).

She works for Eskom as a Customer Service Supervisor, and is currently studying towards her Bcom Degree.

“I believe as a married women we have so much to give to our community and country, so much knowledge and life experiences that can be shared with the future generation, especially the girls.

“In this ever changing world with advancements in technology, we have lost so much of our traditions, values and culture, this something I am truly passionate about and one of the many reasons I am participating in the Mrs India Pageant.

“I want to use the opportunity to encourage and motivate all women from a young age to respect and value themselves and even though we live in a world that is ever changing to never forget their culture, their values and traditions.

Jessica describes herself as a proudly South African citizen, but who has not forgotten her heritage and motherland.

“I have spent many years indulging in the beauty of the Indian culture. I consider myself a crazed Bollywood fan and I stay deeply connected with my roots, despite not being raised in the traditional Indian way or following the religion, my belief is that being Indian is more than just amounting it to religion.

Jessica added that women should love themselves no matter what as there is no so-called perfect woman that is portrayed on television and in magazines.

“There is so much more to women than just the outward beauty. I am not of perfect weight, I do not have perfect hair or a perfect body. I am fine with that as it shows my journey as a mother and wife, my body is not ruined, I am a tigress that has earned her stripes,” said Jessica

She strongly believes that being a woman is having the power to be more than everyone expects, better than anyone believes and achieve greater than ever before.
