Hillcrest Spur supports Fulton learners

Eldorado Spur have been big supporters of Fulton School for the Deaf.

Eldorado Spur in Hillcrest have taken the Fulton School for the Deaf under their wing by providing on going support and treats for the pupils.

Spur held a skills training workshop for the Grade 6 and 7 pupils and a special breakfast for the school choir, recently.

The high school pupils spent the morning at the Spur where they participated in a skills training workshop which taught them how a business runs, customer relations and working in a busy kitchen.

Joanne Silva, a Fulton High School teacher said, “Eldorado Spur has always been very good to us. We really want to thank them. They really go through a lot of trouble and the training is so important because it encourages the pupils and shows them that they can achieve something and find jobs.”

The Spur also does the Star of the Month for the pupils who are presented with Spur vouchers. Clifton Christie, manager of Eldorado Spur, is affectionately known as the “Spur man” to the pupils who get very excited to see him at the school or Spur.

“I love the kids to bits and have a lot of time for them,” he said.

The choir were also treated to burgers and drinks at the Spur as a celebration of their achievements.

Kate Harper, general manager for Eldorado Spur, said, “We are very proud of the Fullton School for the Deaf Choir and their achievements.”
