Kearsney Choir ready to defend world champion title

Kearsney College Choir is ready to conquer the world.

The Kearsney College choir hosted two supper theatre evenings which presented the programme, Born from the Same Drum, that they will perform at the eighth World Choir Games in Latvia.

The first part of the tour takes them to Geneva, Switzerland where they have been invited to represent Africa at the United Nations sponsored Rhythms of One World Festival with six other choirs from around the world.

From there they will travel to Latvia to defend their World Champion title with their energetic and moving performances. They will be competing in the young male choir (14 to 24 years of age), scenic folklore and a new category, Scenic Pop.

“Bernard Kruger (director of music) and the boys have made huge sacrifices, dedicating much time and energy to the rehearsals and performances for this tour, and we trust that they will reap the rewards of all their efforts,” said Elwyn van den Aardweg, Kearsney College’s headmaster.
