Family plus dog injured in Hillcrest crash

Four people and a dog were injured in a Hillcrest collision.

FOUR people including a mother, her two teenage daughters and their dog were injured on the M13, Westbound.

The accident took place this morning before the second Hillcrest offramp, Pietermaritzburg bound.

According to Shannon Charles from VEMA, a white Citi Golf was heading east and took a wrong turn.

“It then collided with a Toyota Fortuner which had three passengers and a dog.

“The driver of the Golf sustained moderate injuries, the mother and her teenage daughters sustained moderate to serious injuries.

“They were all treated at the scene by VEMA, Netcare 911, ER24 and were then transported to Hillcrest Hospital,” said Charles.

  1. the driver of the golf was driving down the wrong way. I saw this driver get out of his car earlier and he could not stand properly. either heavily drugged up or very very drunk. He was parked further up the road on the left hand side where construction plant is often kept. He then turned right onto the on coming traffic —– i hope he was tested accordingly.
