Three arrested for Northdene murder

Three men have been arrested for the murder 64-year-old Northdene resident John Arundel.

Update: The three suspects arrested in connection to John Arundel’s murder appeared in court yesterday following their arrest on Tuesday 27 May.

Shaun Chiwawa (29), Reese Singh (21) and Radlyn Umavasio (24) appeared before Judge Gwendolyn Robinson at the Pinetown Magistrate Court , where their case was remanded to 5 June 2014.

 

Initial report: ACCORDING to social media and anti-crime initiative, Queensburgh Crime Watch, three men were arrested last night for the brutal murder of a Northdene man.

It was noted that the three men resided in the Malvern area and were arrested by the local police. According to other reports, the Durban South Dog Unit also played a significant role in arresting the three men.

John Arundel, a 64-year-old man, was stabbed in the chest and neck several times and left to bleed to death in his home last week.

According to Cpt Thulani Zwane, provincial spokesman for the SAPS, the motive behind the killing is not yet known and the police are still investigating.
