Police track down Pinetown robbers

The perpetrators are behind bars awaiting their court appearance.

PINETOWN detectives arrested three men aged 18 and 40 for house robbery on Wednesday, 21 May at 10pm.

According to Captain Thulani Zwane, it is believed the robbers broke into a flat in Park Lane in Pinetown on the same day at approximately 2am. They allegedly assaulted the victim (24). Luckily, the victim was able to escape however when he returned later, his laptop and Nokia cellphone were stolen.

Police received a tip-off about the whereabouts of the alleged robbers, then tracked them down to the Pinetown CBD where they were arrested. The three men were charged for house robbery and are expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.

KZN provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the Pinetown officers for the speedy response in putting the perpetrators behind the bars.
