Five injured in N3 accident
Traffic was severely affected along the N3, Durban bound, near Hammarsdale this morning.
FIVE people were injured when two vehicles overturned on the N3, between Hammarsdale and Peacevale, this morning.
According to Russel Meiring, spokesman for ER24, the five occupants of the bakkie suffered from minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured. “The driver of the light motor vehicle told paramedics that she had swerved to avoid an object on the road. This caused her to lose control,” said Meiring.
ER24 paramedics treated the injured people at the scene before they transported them to a nearby hospital.
Meiring also noted that the fast lane had to be closed for a short period of time as the two cars obstructed the motorway.
The SAPS were at the scene and will be investigating.
