Missing boy found dead, three weeks after his disappearance.

Missing boy (12) found mutilated

ON Tuesday morning, Mariannhill Primary School held a special assembly dedicated to Wonderboy Gcwensa (12) whose body was found mutilated in a bush.

Wonderboy’s family in KwaDabeka is still very traumatised about his death as his head and arm were decapitated.

Wonderboy who was a Grade 6 pupil at Mariannhill Primary School disappeared on Tuesday April 29 and his body was discovered on Thursday 15 May.

Principal at the school, Sivalingam Govender said they are still very shocked about this gruesome killing.

“From his teachers and friends, Wonderboy was described as a very quiet boy with respect.

“He took his work seriously and he was very good in sports,” said Govender.

Wonderboy Gcwensa’s grandmother Elizabeth Gcwensa said he was playing outside with his friends when the electricity went out.

“His mother thought he was at my house because we live in separate houses. We started getting worried when we were both looking for him in the morning.

“We reported the matter to the police when he did not return to the house, we looked for him everywhere with no luck.

“On Thursday a pupil from one of the high schools was coming back from school using the bushes as a short cut when he got a strange smell and alerted his friends.

“When they looked they saw his clothes and body wrapped in a blanket. We were only told the following morning as the children who saw his body were scared.

“We are very shocked and confused about this attack and killing of our boy. He did not deserve to die like this.

“We make ends meet, we do not know how where we are going to get the money to bury Wonderboy as I recently lost my daughter,” said Elizabeth.

No one has been arrested yet for the murder.
