Vetkoek vendor killed near Inchanga

A vetkoek vendor was killed this morning (Tuesday, 22 April) when she was hit by a bakkie while attempting to cross the R103 near Inchanga.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman, who was in her thirties, lying on top of the bakkie canopy, her bucket of vetkoeks strewn all over the busy road. She was declared dead on scene.

The elderly bakkie driver and his passenger sustained no injuries but were in a state of shock.

Local authorities will investigate the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
