Airline spikes family’s guns

A Winston Park family stuck to its guns in a run in with an airline.

A WINSTON Park family reportedly had their holiday trip to the US ruined by a toy gun.

According to news reports, the family of seven was stopped on their return from the states by Kulula.com  at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport earlier this month when they revealed they were packing a plastic Transformers gun belonging to one of the family children.

The toy gun was apparently a souvenir from the family’s trip to Universal Studios.

The kulula.com website says “all toy guns will be prohibited from all kulula and British Airways (operated by Comair) flights as checked in or hand luggage.”

A rude comment was reportedly the final straw for the family, who decided to hire a car for the rest of the trip home.

  1. Even if it is a harmless toy it could unnerve the passengers in the cabin. They were asking for problems.
