SPCA reaches out to less fortunate

The Kloof and Highway SPCA improved the general health of animals in KwaNgcolosi, through its Outreach Clinic.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA hosted an Outreach Clinic in the KwaNgcolosi area on 25 and 26 March, 2014.

The aim of these clinics is to provide primary health care to vulnerable animals in poverty stricken areas and to promote the general health and welfare of animals and people.

During the two days 89 dogs and cats were sterilised, vaccinated and treated for ticks, fleas and other external parasites. Unwanted animals were also signed over to the SPCA by their owners, sparing them from a life of neglect and suffering.

Additionally, inspectors also utilised the opportunity to reach out to the community and educate them on basic animal health care and how to look after their animals adequately.

The Kloof and Highway SPCA would like to thank their donors who make these clinics possible. Without the generosity of their supporters, the Kloof and Highway SPCA would not be able to continue the work that they do in animal welfare.
