The young and the younger get together

St Benedict School hosts annual unity day.

St Benedict School had its annual unity day recently.

This is a unique aspect of the school where a large part of the day is set aside to foster relationships between the high school, primary school and the staff.

Grade 2 teacher Shareen Gould said, “This year’s theme was “The Year of the Family” and unity day incorporated this by taking a closer look at the important values which bind our families together.

“The day which was a huge success. It started and ended with a service in the Chapel Garden and in between there was lots of time for fun and getting to know one another a little better, truly cementing the family atmosphere which exists in the school,” said Gould.

Each high school class was assigned a primary school class for the day and planned a series of fun, interactive games and activities which the older pupils did together with the younger ones. These activities included musical statues, face painting and water games to rounders, obstacle courses and much more.
