Hijackers hit a brick wall

Three men who hijacked a Mariannhill couple fled on foot after hitting a wall.

THREE men who hijacked a Mariannhill couple last Thursday fled in the damaged vehicle after hitting a wall.

According to W/O Trevor Govender, Mariannhill SAPS communications officer, the couple had just arrived home, and while removing the goods from their car, three men attacked them.

“They took the complainant’s wallet which had R2000 in it, a Samsung cellphone and fled with their car.

“They hit the wall on their way out causing damages to the left side of the car,” he said.

Govender has urged people to be vigilant at all times.

“People must not leave their driveway gates, doors and windows open and they must keep an eye on their neighbour’s property when they are not around.

“Investigate your surroundings when you hear dogs barking and exchange contact numbers with your neighbours in case of an emergency,” said Govender.
