TWO separate accidents in Hammarsdale have left 41 commuters seriously injured.
Eighteen people were injured in the first accident on Thursday 27 February at 6.30pm, after a taxi and two cars collided at an intersection along the Hammarsdale main road. Netcare 911 paramedics said some of the injured passengers were trapped in the vehicles.
In a separate incident, 23 people were injured after two taxis collided on the R103 near the N3 in Hammarsdale on Tuesday 4 March at 7.35am.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene to find the commuters on the side of the road.
They stabilised the injured and transported them to various hospitals.
The causes of both accidents are still being investigated by police.
