Golf balls wreak havoc for Westville resident

Malcolm McGill is appealing to the golfer in his neighbourhood to practice his swing somewhere else.

EVER hear the saying its raining hail stones as big as golf balls? Well, this phrase aptly describes Westville resident Malcom McGill’s dilemma.

According to McGill, someone living in his neighbourhood has been swinging golf balls into his yard for the past year.

“I have no clue where it’s coming from, but we’ve found golf balls on our driveway, in our back garden, we’ve heard them bounce on our roof and go through the trees, on our lawn and even bounce outside our fence,” said McGill.

He suspects that the golf balls are being shot from a distance to travel at a vast speed and bounce off his roof.

“I just want to appeal to whomever it is that’s doing this, to please think of the consequences should one of these golf balls hit somebody. It’s not just my family, but there are a lot of runners, walkers and babies in prams accompanied by their mothers who use Turnbridge Road,” said McGill.

For the safety of all around him, McGill is appealing to the golfer to please practice his swing in a more appropriate spot.
