Physio Awards recognise courage and strength

The Debbie Cameron Physiotherapy awards recognised courage and perseverance.

THE 2013 Debbie Cameron Physiotherapy Awards, which took place at Centenary Medical Centre in Hillcrest, in support of Reach for A Dream was a resounding success.

The purpose of the annual awards is to celebrate those who have had a physical challenge, have had faith in their physiotherapist, persevered with patience and overcome the odds to reach a full and successful recovery.

Debbie Cameron Physiotherapy patient, Chantelle Gibson, was chosen as the recipient of this year’s ‘Inspiring Hope’ award. According to her physiotherapist Lynne Fairclough, Chantelle approached the healing process with tenacity, determination and a sense of humour.

The guest speaker was Amazon attack survivor, Davey du Plessis who spoke about the incredible compassion of strangers who saved his life in the Amazon, as well as the need to be of value to the people who come into your life.

R5860 was raised from the event for The Reach for A Dream Foundation.
