Westville Mall host a fundraiser for rhino poaching

Westville Mall raises funds for the rhinos.

WESTVILLE Mall hosted an anti-poaching of rhinos fundraiser on Friday 13 September.

Art pieces of rhinos and conservation, created by Westville Senior Primary pupils in recognition of the centre’s month of ‘Caring for our World and Saving our Rhinos’ were auctioned at the function.

Musical entertainment was provided by singer Belinda Dolphin as well as the talented children from WSPS. A marimba band created a wonderful atmosphere and a choir was enjoyed by all. The Westville Schools Combined Orchestra also performed.

Customers partook of wine tasting for a donation and the lucky draw prize to Giants Castle was won by Prakash Harikishun. Many spot prizes were also given away.

“I would like to thank those that supported the evening. The money raised is still being tallied up and will be announced once all is finalised. The recycled donation rhino is still at the centre and more activities are planned with DSW and the Earth Organisation coming into the centre from 19 – 23 September,” said event coordinator Janine Kyle.
