MEETINGS

THEOSOPHICAL Society Durban Lodge will hold a free talk at 306 Avondale Road in Morningside, Durban on Sunday 1 September at 10am. Opal Lawson will talk about The Story of the Human Soul. Some aspects of myth and fable will be touched upon.

HIGHWAY Garden Club will meet at Kloof Civic Hall on Tuesday 3 September at 9.30am. Mr Mike Callahan will talk on Clivias. Visitors welcome.

LIVE Poets Society will meet on Wednesday 4 September at The Collective, 48b Florida Road in Greyville Durban at 5.30pm. Poets and lovers of poetry are welcome to listen, read, share their works and to discuss poetry in all its varied forms and uniqueness. Admission is free.

UPPER Highway Branch Social Club of the South African Association for Retired Persons will hold its monthly luncheon at Rob Roy Lifestyle Centre in Botha’s Hill on Wednesday 4 September at 11.30am. GO along to the Look What I Made market at Hillcrest Primary School on Friday 30 August from 4pm to 7pm. The market will shocase the talents and businesses of Hillcrest Primary parents from sand art and reiki to fudge, bags, coffee, vetkoek, meals and dancing. Take your family and friends along.

MONTESEEL Conservancy will host a Fun Day at the Monteseel Park on Saturday 31 August from 12pm till late, in order to raise much-needed funds for the upkeep and rehabilitation of the beautiful indigenous grasslands. There will be craft stalls, food stalls, beer garden, live music, good old-fashioned games, pony rides, a jumping castle and big-screen rugby. A drumming circle around the bonfire and fire dancing will keep you warm in the evening.

KEEP Hillcrest Beautiful Association’s monthly Rail Reserve Walk takes place on Sunday 1 September at 9am. Meet at the Station Masters Arms on Inanda Road, Hillcrest. All welcome including families, dogs on leads and cyclists. Entry is R10 for trail maintenance. Contact Jean Jooste 082 8950540.

GO along to The Meeting Tree market at B5 Kassier Extension in Shongweni on Sunday 1 September from 11am to 4pm. There is live music, great food, and bespoke crafters. If people are looking for a unique day out then this is the market to come to. Entrance is R10 a car to cover the cost of the band.

ROSEHIP’S Natural and Organic Market takes place on Saturday 7 September, at the Roseway Waldorf School in Alverstone, from 10am until 2pm. Fresh veggies, food and crafts will be on sale, plus fun activitires for the children. Contact Shelley on 083 679 1203.

A MID-Month Madness sale will be held at the Pinetown Methodist Church, 7 Church Lane on Saturday 14 September from 9am to noon. Anything and everything will be on sale. A tea garden will be open.
