A MAN was shot 11 times in front of his girlfriend in St Wendolins in Mariannhill last week.
According to W/O Trevor Govender, communications officer at SAPS Mariannhill, Nicholas Phungula was talking with his girlfriend on Jabulani Road in St Wendolins, Mariannhill when two men came from behind and shot him several times in the back.
“They went up to him while he lay on the ground and shot him again in the face and fled on foot.
“Phungula was pronounced dead on the scene,” said Govender.
