On the last day, he shot an even par round making him one of the only two boys throughout all the age groups to shoot a level par round for 18 holes, lowest shooting score of the week.

“Asher played some astonishing golf this week. He had an unbelievable last round and we just loved it,” said his father, Glenn Hollister.

This win was on the back of a commendable 41st place finish out of 146 golfers in the US Kids World Championship played in July at the Pinehurst No1 Golf Course in North Carolina, USA, which is renowned for being the toughest and grainiest greens in Pinehurst.

Asher played some incredible golf in challenging seasonal conditions with incredible humidity and high temperatures of 30-plus degrees daily.

“He played the most formidable golf and I could not be prouder of him. We are so grateful to God for blessing us with this amazing opportunity,” said his father and caddy.

Director of sports at Highbury, Rory Wood, said a very exciting young golfing talent is emerging from the ranks of the current Grade 3 group at Highbury Preparatory School.

“Asher is one to watch for the future and Highbury is incredibly proud to claim him as one of our own,” said Wood.
