Riverside Church showers community with love

With specialist car wash equipment, the congregants at the Riverside Church were ready for the day of free car washes.

RIVERSIDE Church in Westville was alive with activity recently during one of its many planned community outreach projects.

The church’s congregants offered free car washes, with equipment sponsored by My Car Wash Ibems International. While waiting, each patron received a free coffee or tea and delicious snacks.

The second part of the outreach was hosted at the Dawncliffe Senior Citizens Home where congregants held a a delightful concert that was followed by free tea, coffee and cake. Each senior citizen received a gift box that contained a variety of toiletries, sweets and biscuits among a few other other small gifts.

“The aim of Serve Day is to uplift the community and senior citizens through acts of kindness. We want to bless them and make Saturday a spoil day for whomever wishes to attend, with no strings attached. It will also bring about team work at Riverside church along with a sense of belonging,” said Devan Welgemoed, the kids and youth pastor at Riverside Church in Westville.
