Browns’ School rallies for a good cause

The KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra provided entertainment on the day.

THE Browns’ School hosted its fund-raising event, Wheels and Heels Rally on Thursday, 25 May.

Learners were allowed to bring something to ride, (anything that has wheels), or if not, they were allowed to walk.

The rally was divided into three groups, it started with the pre-primary children, followed by the older children.

While the one group was on the rally, the other groups were entertained in the hall by the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Along the route was a ‘Pit-Stop’, where each child was given a snack-pack with juice, chips, biscuits and a tub of ice-cream (all of which was donated).

After the rally, children headed to the fields where there were fun rides and games which included bubble soccer, a ferris wheel, Thomas the train, mechanical swings, jumping castles, the Air Mountain, and paintball target shooting – provided by the Ashley Residents Neighbourhood Watch.

Browns’ School, Income Development Director, Jane Noble said children were all given sponsorship forms to be able to take part in the day of fun.

“All of the funds raised by each class will be returned to that class to be used for whatever they need most in the classroom.

“The costs of the entertainment were covered by the Income Development Committee and we would love to have a sponsor for this annual event next year,” she said.
