Pupils explore new game

Lambie is a former pupil of Browns' School and was very excited to demonstrate to the pupils.

NICHOLAS Lambie and David Ralph from The Lord’s Taverners visited the Browns’ School to donate and introduce table cricket to the pupils.

The Lord’s Taverners is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance, which was recently launched in South Africa.

Lambie is a former pupil of Browns’ School and was very excited to demonstrate to the pupils how the game works and how it is beneficial for both the disabled and able people.

Principal, Colleen Bailey, said, “We really appreciate the donation and we are also excited that all the pupils can participate in the game.”

Some of the pupils had an opportunity to get a feel of what the game is about and how to play it while the others looked with excitement.

Lambie didn’t come alone but brought his brother, Patrick Lambie, a rugby player who plays for the Sharks in the Currie Cup and Super Rugby, which gave the children more to be excited about.
